What Is Whiplash?

Whiplash is a neck injury caused by a sudden, forceful back-and-forth movement of the neck — most commonly from rear-end auto accidents. The rapid motion strains the muscles, ligaments, and soft tissues of the neck and can also affect the cervical discs and nerves.
